International development is the effort to describe, understand, and improve economic, social, and political deficiencies across the world. As a field of study, international development involves virtually every academic discipline, embracing a wide variety of topics such as public health, business, and education. This minor is an excellent fit for economics majors who are interested in working for the US government as economists on projects focused on improving living standards in foreign countries.
