Associate Professor of Economics at Brigham Young University, Dr. Scott Bradford weighs in on whether the TPP was bad for the U.S.

Dr. Arden Pope and colleagues discovered a link between air pollution and blood vessel damage in his most recent publication, "Exposure to Fine Particulate Air Pollution Is Associated with Endothelial Injury and Systemic Inflammation". The BYU Economics Department will host the 2016 California Econometrics Conference on October 7th & 8th with Whitney Newey from MIT as the keynote speaker. Students may attend the conference sessions.

Professor Michael Ransom was interviewed on the “Colorado Public Radio” to discuss his research on the effects and analysis of railway expansion. Ransom’s recent paper, “The Effect of Light Rail on Highway Traffic in Denver: A Critical Reappraisal,” finds that such railway expansion does not pass the cost-benefit analysis and proves to actually be an impractical, expensive option.

Associate Professor Jaren Pope, along with other researchers, published an article titled "The Psychological Effect of Weather on Car Purchases", which explores the impact of weather on purchasing decisions, specifically concerning vehicles. Click the link to read more about their findings.

The BYU Record Linking Lab employs 20 undergraduate research assistants from the Economics Department. The goal of the lab is to: (1) provide a bridge between academic researchers and FamilySearch, and (2) identify ways to involve more individuals in contributing to the Family Tree at FamilySearch.
