Research and Professional Experience
Taylor Landon is an applied economist whose research sits at the intersection of labor and public economics. Much of his work focuses on the criminal legal system and criminal decision-making. Current projects examine how the funding and design of public defense shape defendants' outcomes, how contact with the legal system affects civic participation, and how community centers in crime hotspots affect juvenile offending. In adjacent work, he studies the economics of education and the economics of the family, with particular attention to low-income households.
