Tyler Folkman is an adjunct professor of machine learning in the economics department at Brigham Young University. He also is a senior manager of data science at Ancestry. His research has focused on the area of entity resolution as it pertains to historical records and genealogical trees. His team is also leveraging machine learning in the areas of natural language processing, marketing optimization, and computer vision. Prior to Ancestry, Tyler worked as an economic consultant at Charles River Associates and spent some time at Amazon while in graduate school.
