Rulon Pope has held positions at University of California, Davis, and Texas A&M University prior to coming to BYU in 1982. He received his Ph.D. from Berkeley in 1976 in the Department of Agricultural Economics. His areas of research include: agricultural economics, econometrics, and microeconomic theory. He is a fellow of the Agricultural and Applied Economics Association and has served on editorial boards and as associate editor of the Association's journal, the American Journal of Agricultural Economics. He has been President of the Western Agricultural Economics Association and has received a number of research awards from these two professional associations. He is a recipient of the Karl G. Maeser Research and Creative Arts Award and holds the Warren and Wilson Dusenberry Professorship. His current areas of teaching are agricultural economics, microeconomic theory, and international trade.
