Research and Professional Experience

Joseph Price is an Associate Professor of Economics at Brigham Young University, specializing in family, education, health, and behavioral economics. His research has examined various ways to promote positive behaviors in children, issues related to parental investments in children, and the use of sports data to identify various behavioral biases. His research has been funded by the USDA, Spencer Foundation, and Institute for Research on Poverty. He is the Director of the BYU Veggie Project, a co-editor at the Economics of Education Review and a Research Fellow at the National Bureau of Economic Research; the Center for the Study of Labor (IZA) in Bonn, Germany; and the Austin Institute for the Study of Family and Culture. He received a B.A in Economics from Brigham Young University and a Ph.D. in Economics from Cornell University. He and his wife, Emily, have seven children.​
