The Master of Data Science (MDS) helps students develop the skills needed to manage, analyze, and communicate findings from data to solve challenges. Graduates will be able to choose and organize the data processing and analysis systems with a structured or unstructured data model that a particular task and domain application needs. They will learn technologies such as Python, SQL, Hadoop and Tableau.1​ Students typically have the opportunity to conduct original research, included in a capstone project, and interact with industry partners and faculty. Students can also choose elective tracks to focus on a specific subject area. The concentration will provide a competitive advantage to secure employment as there is a growing need for data scientists. Some of the industries employing data scientists include finance, technology, government, healthcare, and many more. Companies like Microsoft, IBM, Amazon, Google, Bank of America, Apple and Facebook are among many that are typically looking to fill positions.1
